I use a glass palette ala Richard Schmid and his many epigones, which has the benefits of being able to have a specific colour underneath it (in my case a neutral grey) and cleaning up really easily with just a knife & a squirt of white spirit. But it was only after using one for about 7 years that I realised I could also scrawl all over it with a felt pen which makes mixing long strings of colours like this much easier to keep track of.
when i was a child i was crazy about palettes! they were the coolest thing ever to me, and i loved how cookies with m’n’ms in them looked like palettes
Genius! I always wanted to get along with a big, kidney-bean shaped wooden palette so I could swan around the studio with it on my arm and look the part…but I just never could.
